Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE), which rose 1.79% or 0.100 points to trade at 5.700 at the close. Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) added 1.75% or 0.200 points to end at 11.600 and ENGIE Energia Peru SA (LM:ENGI) was up 1.24% or 0.100 points to 8.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC), which lost 3.67% or 1.30 points to trade at 34.10 in late trade. Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa) declined 3.57% or 0.100 points to end at 2.700 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) shed 3.24% or 0.070 points to 2.090.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 12 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.21% or 0.10 to $47.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $50.59 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.41% or 17.76 to trade at $1239.24 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2505, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.5490.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 99.26.
