Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.71% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 5.00% or 0.610 points to trade at 12.810 at the close. Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) added 3.28% or 0.020 points to end at 0.630 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 2.85% or 0.82 points to 29.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relapasa (LM:REL), which lost 3.91% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.221 in late trade. Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) declined 3.85% or 0.050 points to end at 1.250 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 3.28% or 0.020 points to 0.590.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 11 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.69% or 0.31 to $45.29 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.04% or 0.48 to hit $46.52 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.24% or 3.00 to trade at $1277.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.63% to 3.3765, while EUR/PEN fell 0.55% to 3.7217.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.75% at 98.61.
