Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Banking & Financials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa), which rose 5.37% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.160 at the close. Ferreyros (LM:FER) added 4.64% or 0.090 points to end at 2.030 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 3.33% or 0.020 points to 0.620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which lost 3.22% or 0.400 points to trade at 12.020 in late trade. Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) declined 1.29% or 0.200 points to end at 15.250 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) shed 0.33% or 0.12 points to 36.01.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 3 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.68% or 0.83 to $50.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $53.08 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.01% or 12.70 to trade at $1241.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2480, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.4708.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.67% at 100.45.
