Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which rose 10.00% or 0.860 points to trade at 9.460 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) added 5.07% or 0.070 points to end at 1.450 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 3.74% or 0.040 points to 1.110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 5.37% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.141 in late trade. Relapasa (LM:REL) declined 2.86% or 0.007 points to end at 0.238 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 1.96% or 0.010 points to 0.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 12 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.36% or 0.19 to $53.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.50% or 0.28 to hit $55.69 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 8.55 to trade at $1233.95 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.67% to 3.2480, while EUR/PEN fell 0.48% to 3.4414.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 101.06.
