Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy, Banking and Diversified Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 2.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 32.94% or 5.1 points to trade at 20.5 at the close. REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) added 10.94% or 0.10 points to end at 1.05 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) was up 10.64% or 1.69 points to 17.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY), which lost 0.80% or 0.28 points to trade at 34.81 in late trade. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 0.78% or 2.3 points to end at 292.7 and Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL:GJFS) shed 0.60% or 0.9 points to 148.1.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 110 to 66 and 22 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.98% or 0.93 to $47.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.71% or 0.84 to hit $50.08 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.35 to trade at $1321.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.08% to 9.0037, while USD/NOK fell 0.37% to 8.0053.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 95.28.
