Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA), which rose 1.98% or 0.81 points to trade at 41.76 at the close. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) added 1.41% or 0.20 points to end at 13.99 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) was up 1.13% or 0.051 points to 4.554 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which lost 3.92% or 4.70 points to trade at 115.20 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 2.15% or 0.50 points to end at 22.76 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) shed 1.76% or 0.63 points to 35.17.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 47 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 15.10% to 11.87.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.81% or 0.37 to $46.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.58% or 0.28 to hit $48.43 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 3.21 to trade at $1268.19 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1200, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 97.24.
