Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.52% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which rose 0.45% or 1.05 points to trade at 233.30 at the close. Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 0.32% or 0.28 points to end at 88.20 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was up 0.22% or 0.040 points to 18.475 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 3.99% or 2.950 points to trade at 71.040 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 2.37% or 0.445 points to end at 18.340 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) shed 2.36% or 0.104 points to 4.304.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 32 and 7 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.07% to 11.76.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.08% or 0.51 to $47.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.67% or 0.33 to hit $49.80 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.02% or 13.12 to trade at $1295.82 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1270, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8744.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 96.58.
