Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 4.88% or 0.139 points to trade at 2.987 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 1.65% or 0.64 points to end at 39.42 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 1.58% or 0.35 points to 22.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 8.01% or 0.579 points to trade at 6.649 in late trade. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) declined 2.73% or 0.42 points to end at 15.15 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) shed 1.07% or 0.049 points to 4.541.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 61 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.80% to 11.61 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.38% or 0.18 to $47.65 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $50.67 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 3.77 to trade at $1227.97 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.0918, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.8485.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 99.16.
