Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 2.97% or 0.64 points to trade at 22.04 at the close. Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) added 0.99% or 0.75 points to end at 76.45 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was up 0.95% or 0.34 points to 35.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which lost 2.42% or 0.111 points to trade at 4.468 in late trade. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) declined 2.02% or 0.30 points to end at 14.57 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 1.71% or 0.94 points to 53.96.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 58 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 5.95% to 11.48.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.14% or 0.07 to $51.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $53.91 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.55% or 6.92 to trade at $1254.48 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1192, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8626.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 97.18.
