Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 2.88% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which rose 0.66% or 0.10 points to trade at 15.14 at the close. Snam (MI:SRG) fell 0.37% or 0.020 points to end at 5.400 and Italcementi (MI:ITAI) was down 0.39% or 0.040 points to 10.260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO), which lost 8.05% or 0.4300 points to trade at 4.9100 in late trade. Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII) declined 6.56% or 0.0380 points to end at 0.5410 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) shed 5.89% or 0.1900 points to 3.0360.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 362 to 47 and 14 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $35.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.03% or 0.01 to hit $37.70 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.93% or 11.30 to trade at $1230.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1396, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.8050.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 94.57.
