Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Recordati (MI:RECI), which rose 4.04% or 1.09 points to trade at 28.09 at the close. UBI Banca (MI:UBI) added 3.63% or 0.1100 points to end at 3.1400 and Saipem (MI:SPMI) was up 3.13% or 0.0142 points to 0.4672 in late trade.
Biggest losers included STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which lost 1.46% or 0.190 points to trade at 12.850 in late trade. Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) declined 1.06% or 0.18 points to end at 16.87 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) shed 0.57% or 0.14 points to 24.42.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 201 to 127 and 13 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.05% or 0.55 to $52.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.63% or 0.35 to hit $55.47 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 6.10 to trade at $1233.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.0657, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8514.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 100.61.
