Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO), which rose 3.00% or 0.1340 points to trade at 4.6040 at the close. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) added 2.95% or 0.0250 points to end at 0.8725 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) was up 2.34% or 0.39 points to 17.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP), which lost 3.00% or 0.78 points to trade at 25.20 in late trade. Exor (MI:EXOR) declined 2.74% or 0.88 points to end at 31.25 and Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM) shed 2.24% or 0.12 points to 5.46.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 206 to 191 and 15 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.22% or 1.49 to $47.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.63% or 1.26 to hit $49.09 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.31% or 3.95 to trade at $1276.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1332, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7865.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 94.45.
