Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Healthcare and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.22% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Elval (AT:VAL), which rose 16.96% or 0.19 points to trade at 1.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) added 16.81% or 0.20 points to end at 1.39 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) was up 12.39% or 0.43 points to 3.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr), which fell 30.00% or 0.084 points to trade at 0.196 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 29.70% or 0.030 points to end at 0.071 and Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) was down 29.65% or 0.067 points to 0.159.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 56 to 35 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) fell to all time lows; down 30.00% or 0.084 to 0.196. Shares in Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) fell to all time lows; down 29.70% or 0.030 to 0.071. Shares in Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) fell to 3-years lows; losing 29.65% or 0.067 to 0.159.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.22% or 2.40 to $1091.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.95% or 0.88 to hit $46.05 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.10% or 0.55 to trade at $50.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.0965, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.7020.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 97.46.
