Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 3.65%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 27.47% or 0.12 points to trade at 0.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 27.19% or 0.031 points to end at 0.145 and Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) was up 26.92% or 0.007 points to 0.033 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iaso (AT:IASr), which fell 9.52% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.570 at the close. Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr) declined 6.08% or 0.48 points to end at 7.42 and Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) was down 4.55% or 1.00 points to 21.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 69 to 21 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Iaso (AT:IASr) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.52% or 0.060 to 0.570.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.32% or 3.50 to $1089.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.55% or 0.70 to hit $44.45 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.86% or 0.42 to trade at $49.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.0919, while EUR/GBP rose 0.73% to 0.7041.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 97.95.
