Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Food, Financials and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which rose 10.06% or 0.032 points to trade at 0.350 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 9.17% or 0.011 points to end at 0.131 and Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) was up 8.14% or 0.04 points to 0.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr), which lost 6.30% or 0.57 points to trade at 8.48 in late trade. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) declined 5.88% or 0.090 points to end at 1.440 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) shed 4.07% or 0.7200 points to 16.9800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 43 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.09% or 1.15 to $1272.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.24% or 0.58 to hit $46.12 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.41 to trade at $47.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.77% to 1.1288, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.7866.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.72% at 94.79.
