Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Korres (AT:KRRr), which rose 2.27% or 0.070 points to trade at 3.160 at the close. Reds (AT:CAMr) added 1.61% or 0.005 points to end at 0.316 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 1.55% or 0.007 points to 0.459 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 8.64% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.1480 in late trade. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) declined 5.84% or 0.1800 points to end at 2.9000 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) shed 5.26% or 0.01 points to 0.18.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 21 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.31% or 16.65 to $1289.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $46.91 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.16 to trade at $48.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.64% to 1.1050, while EUR/GBP rose 0.81% to 0.9037.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 97.83.
