Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Banking and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 10.00% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.1430 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) added 9.52% or 0.060 points to end at 0.690 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 6.25% or 0.007 points to 0.119 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr), which lost 2.74% or 0.045 points to trade at 1.595 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 2.24% or 0.003 points to end at 0.131 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) shed 0.66% or 0.001 points to 0.151.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 48 to 38 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.98% or 12.95 to $1337.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.18% or 0.56 to hit $47.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.95% or 0.47 to trade at $50.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1269, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8543.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 94.76.
