Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Travel and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 9.38% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.140 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 4.09% or 0.021 points to end at 0.535 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 3.88% or 0.200 points to 5.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH), which lost 5.63% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.340 in late trade. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 5.52% or 0.009 points to end at 0.155 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) shed 5.26% or 0.01 points to 0.18.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 47 to 46 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.22% or 2.75 to $1269.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.14% or 0.56 to hit $49.74 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.14% or 0.57 to trade at $50.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.0918, while EUR/GBP rose 0.64% to 0.8964.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 98.73.
