Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.61% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.78% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.2020 at the close. Korres (AT:KRRr) added 8.11% or 0.300 points to end at 4.000 and Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) was up 8.04% or 0.051 points to 0.685 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 3.90% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.320 in late trade. Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) declined 0.48% or 0.1250 points to end at 25.8750 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) shed 0.37% or 0.010 points to 2.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 23 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.47% or 5.73 to $1221.83 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.86% or 1.31 to hit $47.19 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.57% or 1.25 to trade at $49.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.0873, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8399.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 99.45.
