Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Travel, Telecoms and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 7.80% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.1520 at the close. Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) added 4.55% or 0.022 points to end at 0.479 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) was up 3.82% or 0.006 points to 0.172 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 6.42% or 0.024 points to trade at 0.351 in late trade. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) declined 5.88% or 0.006 points to end at 0.096 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) shed 2.23% or 0.040 points to 1.750.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 30 and 25 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.28% or 3.45 to $1235.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.88% or 1.01 to hit $54.79 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.53% or 0.86 to trade at $57.04 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.0533, while EUR/GBP fell 0.80% to 0.8451.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 101.47.
