Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Resources and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 10.99% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.101 at the close. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) added 9.35% or 0.130 points to end at 1.520 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) was up 5.44% or 0.027 points to 0.523 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which lost 18.42% or 0.035 points to trade at 0.200 in late trade. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 4.55% or 0.01 points to end at 0.21 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) shed 2.73% or 0.0210 points to 0.7470.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 33 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.57% or 6.95 to $1204.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.25% or 0.66 to hit $53.47 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.55% or 0.86 to trade at $56.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.0756, while EUR/GBP fell 0.84% to 0.8510.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 99.84.
