Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Chemicals and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which rose 28.18% or 0.093 points to trade at 0.423 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 8.89% or 0.008 points to end at 0.098 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was up 6.73% or 0.070 points to 1.110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which lost 20.79% or 0.6300 points to trade at 2.4000 in late trade. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 5.55% or 0.037 points to end at 0.630 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) shed 2.40% or 0.030 points to 1.220.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 33 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.85 to $1314.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.23% or 0.11 to hit $48.13 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $50.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1214, while EUR/GBP rose 0.82% to 0.8731.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 95.65.
