Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Household and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.54% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 8.67% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.163 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 6.00% or 0.036 points to end at 0.648 and Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) was up 5.88% or 0.060 points to 1.080 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 3.96% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.097 in late trade. Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) declined 2.14% or 0.007 points to end at 0.320 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) shed 1.66% or 0.080 points to 4.730.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 51 to 43 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.58% or 6.90 to $1203.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.28% or 0.67 to hit $52.92 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.52% or 0.84 to trade at $55.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.0661, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.8720.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.69% at 101.00.
