Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.52% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 9.87% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.167 at the close. Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) added 7.94% or 0.100 points to end at 1.360 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) was up 7.45% or 0.035 points to 0.505 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr), which lost 2.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 4.650 in late trade. Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) declined 1.52% or 0.030 points to end at 1.970 and ThesKi Water (AT:TWSr) shed 1.36% or 0.050 points to 3.620.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 35 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.28% or 3.55 to $1252.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.41% or 0.68 to hit $49.05 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.30% or 0.67 to trade at $52.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.0756, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8664.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 99.87.
