Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Media, Industrials and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.50% or 0.0170 points to trade at 0.1960 at the close. Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) added 7.29% or 0.042 points to end at 0.618 and ThesKi Water (AT:TWSr) was up 4.42% or 0.180 points to 4.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 4.48% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.128 in late trade. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 2.89% or 0.013 points to end at 0.440 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) shed 2.10% or 0.030 points to 1.400.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 38 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.13% or 14.63 to $1278.57 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $45.67 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.44% or 0.21 to trade at $47.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1221, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8668.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 96.94.
