Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Food sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 10.22% or 0.076 points to trade at 0.820 at the close. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 7.23% or 0.3400 points to end at 5.0400 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) was up 5.20% or 0.033 points to 0.668 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hygeia (AT:HYGr), which lost 2.62% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.372 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 2.50% or 0.003 points to end at 0.117 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) shed 1.74% or 0.004 points to 0.226.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 53 to 44 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.27% or 3.32 to $1245.32 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.44% or 0.21 to hit $47.11 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.14 to trade at $49.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.03% to 1.1633, while EUR/GBP rose 1.29% to 0.8955.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 94.02.
