Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Food and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 8.15% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.146 at the close. Halcor (AT:XAKO) added 6.12% or 0.020 points to end at 0.351 and Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) was up 4.92% or 0.1300 points to 2.7700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Reds (AT:CAMr), which lost 6.45% or 0.022 points to trade at 0.319 in late trade. ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) declined 2.67% or 0.50 points to end at 18.20 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) shed 2.34% or 0.13 points to 5.42.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 57 to 41 and 22 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.02% or 13.75 to $1330.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.37% or 1.55 to hit $44.38 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 3.38% or 1.62 to trade at $46.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1202, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.8625.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 95.53.
