Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Media, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 4.00% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.104 at the close. AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) added 3.99% or 0.033 points to end at 0.860 and Hell.Exchanges (AT:EXCr) was up 2.60% or 0.12 points to 4.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which lost 2.67% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.460 in late trade. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) declined 2.67% or 0.050 points to end at 1.820 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) shed 2.50% or 0.004 points to 0.156.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 34 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.33% or 4.15 to $1255.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.65% or 0.33 to hit $50.27 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.62% or 0.33 to trade at $53.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.0650, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.8538.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 100.54.
