Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Household and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.08% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 8.59% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.140 at the close. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 6.72% or 0.009 points to end at 0.143 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) was up 5.38% or 0.070 points to 1.370 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which lost 6.55% or 0.0590 points to trade at 0.8420 in late trade. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 4.95% or 0.037 points to end at 0.702 and Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) shed 4.29% or 0.1200 points to 2.6800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 51 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.81% or 10.25 to $1273.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.90% or 1.46 to hit $51.75 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.40% or 1.24 to trade at $52.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.0973, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8921.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.77.
