Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Insurance, Consumer & Cyclical and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Basic Resources, Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.15%, while the MDAX index gained 0.01%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG), which rose 2.81% or 4.450 points to trade at 162.800 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) added 2.45% or 2.050 points to end at 85.740 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was up 2.21% or 2.600 points to 120.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p), which lost 2.33% or 3.350 points to trade at 140.250 in late trade. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) declined 1.70% or 0.315 points to end at 18.200 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) shed 1.48% or 0.255 points to 17.000.
The top performers on the MDAX were STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (DE:STAGn) which rose 2.60% to 57.700, Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which was up 2.51% to settle at 72.220 and CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which gained 1.91% to close at 34.155.
The worst performers were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 1.71% to 22.750 in late trade, Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which lost 1.64% to settle at 79.670 and Salzgitter AG (DE:SZGG) which was down 1.32% to 37.105 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Alix Resources Corp (F:37N2) which rose 11.11% to 0.040, S&T AG (F:SANT1) which was up 1.70% to settle at 9.693 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 0.94% to close at 69.000.
The worst performers were Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which was down 1.85% to 8.945 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 1.73% to settle at 56.800 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 1.67% to 44.920 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 390 to 357 and 17 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.90% to 14.32.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.19% or 2.35 to $1239.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.45% or 0.24 to hit $53.12 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.08 to trade at $55.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.0615, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8539.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 100.87.
