* The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX .GSPTSE fell 4.82 points, or 0.03 percent, to 15,409.47.
* Leading the index were Canopy Growth Corp WEED.TO , up 13.6 percent, Aurora Cannabis Inc ACB.TO , up 9.9 percent, and Snc-Lavalin Group Inc SNC.TO , higher by 5.9 percent.
* Lagging shares were CES Energy Solutions Corp CEU.TO , down 4.4 percent, Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd TVE.TO , down 3.9 percent, and Nuvista Energy Ltd NVA.TO , lower by 3.7 percent.
* On the TSX 117 issues rose and 121 fell as a 1-to-1 ratio favored decliners. There were 2 new highs and 22 new lows, with total volume of 246.4 million shares.
* The most heavily traded shares by volume were Aurora Cannabis Inc ACB.TO , Aphria Inc APH.TO and Bombardier Inc BBDb.TO .
* West Texas Intermediate crude futures CLc1 rose 0.45 percent, or $0.32, to $71.66 a barrel. Brent crude LCOc1 rose 0.37 percent, or $0.3, to $80.73 O/R
* The TSX is off 4.9 percent for the year.
