Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumption and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were BRF SA (SA:BRFS3), which rose 5.24% or 3.44 points to trade at 69.07 at the close. Meanwhile, CPFL Energia SA (SA:CPFE3) added 3.43% or 0.64 points to end at 19.30 and Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4) was up 3.08% or 0.21 points to 7.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA (SA:GOLL4), which fell 4.30% or 0.28 points to trade at 6.23 at the close. Oi SA (SA:OIBR4) declined 3.30% or 0.18 points to end at 5.27 and Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4) was down 3.30% or 0.38 points to 11.15.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 167 to 138 and 2 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.31% to 31.68.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.93% or 10.90 to $1155.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $53.09 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.76% or 0.95 to trade at $124.40 .
USD/BRL was up 1.36% to 3.1803, while EUR/BRL rose 0.86% to 3.5003.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 96.91.
