Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumption, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which rose 1.84% or 0.27 points to trade at 14.91 at the close. EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) added 1.66% or 0.17 points to end at 10.43 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) was up 1.03% or 0.07 points to 6.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which lost 1.78% or 0.12 points to trade at 6.61 in late trade. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) declined 1.22% or 0.20 points to end at 16.25 and Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4) shed 1.17% or 0.06 points to 5.06.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 174 to 149 and 39 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.44% to 30.18.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.41% or 5.03 to $1224.23 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $47.08 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 1.33% or 1.67 to trade at $127.67 .
USD/BRL was up 0.22% to 3.3087, while EUR/BRL rose 0.07% to 3.7540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 95.99.
