Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Construction & Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.36% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 8.66% or 1.91 points to trade at 23.89 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 5.14% or 2.740 points to end at 56.070 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 1.85% or 1.90 points to 104.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DIeteren SA (BR:IETB), which fell 2.64% or 0.810 points to trade at 29.820 at the close. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) declined 1.18% or 1.18 points to end at 98.73 and Elia (BR:ELI) was down 0.73% or 0.320 points to 43.520.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 96 to 53 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.42% or 15.70 to $1088.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.57% or 0.71 to hit $44.49 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.97% or 0.47 to trade at $47.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.35% to 1.0736, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.7133.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.24% at 99.30.
