Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 2.74% or 10.99 points to trade at 412.38 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 1.74% or 0.440 points to end at 25.760 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 1.23% or 0.39 points to 32.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 2.30% or 17.85 points to trade at 757.71 in late trade. Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) declined 1.38% or 2.12 points to end at 151.37 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) shed 1.34% or 0.660 points to 48.770.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 148 to 121 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.67% or 8.31 to $1257.71 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.82% or 0.35 to hit $43.09 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.97% or 0.44 to trade at $45.66 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.66% to 17.9928, while EUR/MXN fell 0.28% to 20.1432.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 96.95.
