Due to restrictions, Rub trading at the retail level would be very difficult. Higher Rub rate, and larger spreads, etc Even institutional level not sure if they r allowed to hold large pos..........

Russian government restricted currency trading. People and businesses can not go to any bank and buy dollars or euros. I guess only some bank and huge companies can buy USD or EUR now. This is how government is trying to decrease demand for currency and thereafter currency prices.
